Established in 2003, the Berkeley Business Law Journal (BBLJ) has experienced rapid growth within the national and international business law community. BBLJ began in response to students’ desire for a business law student association at UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). The Journal currently operates as a registered student organization through the University of California, Berkeley and is administered by an independent board of student editors, who receive guidance from a board of faculty advisors.
Our mission is to provide a forum in which scholars, practitioners, and law students can explore current topics in business law. We facilitate this discussion through a variety of channels, including print publications and speaker events. We publish two issues per year containing timely and innovative scholarly research by academics and practitioners. We have previously hosted symposia, and beginning this year we are partnering with the Berkeley Center for Law, Business, and the Economy (BCLBE) to host an annual symposium which will focus on topical business law issues. The Journal also works with BCLBE to bring distinguished academics and legal practitioners to Boalt to speak on engaging business law topics.
